Here I am...rock me like a hurricane

And Harvey has arrived.

My friend mentioned I should start a blog, not sure why or what I am going to say,
or if anyone is ever really going to read it, but I thought I would give it a whirl. If anything, it will give me a break from Facebook.

I'm not a guy that gets fired up on everything. In fact, unless it's Spurs basketball, defending my faith, or talking about the show, Supernatural, you might need to check my pulse to see if my ticker is still ticking. Well, maybe not, I exaggerate to make a point. I just don't see the idea in getting all hot and bothered by the majority of stuff that comes my way. It saves me a lot of stress, I'll you what. While many people who know me, primarily my family, might chalk it up to laziness, I think it's more of a defense of mine...as well as some laziness. Hence, my title for this blog. It was quite the topic of conversation with my friend...we went from "sick twisted freak" to "wookies" The one you see at the top of the page didn't come to me until I sat down at started creating this page, but I think it fits.

A teacher and semi-hero of mine once described me as "still waters often run deep." At first I had no clue what she was talking about (btw, not understanding idioms is one sure way to score points with an English teacher who is trying to complement you), but I was good at faking comprehension until I could figure it out. I didn't think she would insult me, so a gracious smile, and a half (well full-blown) lie of "I get that a lot" saved me.

I have thought about that saying, and have even had a couple other people direct it my way since that first time in English class, but the question arises....How deep is deep? I've decided depth is relative. As such, I don't pretend to know everything (well sometimes I actually do pretend, much to the chagrin of my friends and family), but I think I have a pretty solid grasp on a few topics, which I guess is kinda the point of this whole shebang. Is shebang really spelled that way? I guess so, spell check isn't picking it up. Well dictionary.com confirms it, it is shebang. but I now know it more commonly means a "hut, shed, or shelter" which wouldn't be entirely contextually correct, but alas it's there and I have already rambled enough about it, so it's staying.

Anyway, who knows if I keep up with this or if it goes the way of my journal. Nevertheless, "Still Waters Run Deep...but it's all relative" has it's maiden post and is off and running...or jogging...or fast walking...or....
